I appreciate to your presentation. I have a question. I am working as an associate. If a hygienist takes intra, extraoral x-rays, and then dentists read and diagnose with them, who has the right for the interpretation fee? Hygienist or dentist?
Thank you.
In Ontario, hygienists do not have the authority to take and interpret radiographs under the RHPA. They are HARP certified to take the image once you have weighed clinical benefit/risk and prescribed it. You as the dentist would have ordered the radiograph for a specific clinical indication, and would interpret it, and therefore would be eligible to receive associated fees. How the hygienist is remunerated for the capturing of the image under your order is a separate issue.
This is really helpful for daily practice. I really appreciate your presentations.
Thanks for the presentations. they are Very informative and useful.
Very informative and great presentation. The Checklist facilitates the radiographic interpretation. Thank You.
