The Ontario Dental Association’s (ODA) Annual Spring Meeting (ASM) is fast approaching. In this conversation, we catch up with ODA ASM speaker Dr. Avi Shelemay, Periodontist in Ottawa.
Dr. Avi Shelemay opened Capital Periodontics in Barrhaven in November of 2008. In addition to private practice. he is Clinical Instructor at the University of Toronto School of Dentistry, teaching Periodontal graduate residents. He is also the co-founder LITE (Live Implant Training and Education) which offers hands-on training to general dentists. Dr. Shelemay is also the director of the Ottawa ITI study club. Dr. Shelemay is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Periodontology. He obtained his DDS from the University of Toronto in 1996 and completed a one-year internship at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Shelemay completed his Master of Science degree and specialty training in Periodontology at the University of Toronto in 2002. His research focused on osseointegration and how implant surface features regulate optimal healing and maintenance of soft and hard tissue levels around dental implants. We want to hear from you!
