Research studies showing the negative impact of tobacco products on oral health care continue to deal with the ever-evolving tobacco landscape. The increasing use of wide-ranging tobacco products calls for more research into people’s exposure to harmful ingredients found in these products. That is the subject of a recent research study that was presented at the International Association of Dental Research conference held in July in London England. The study is titled: Nicotine and Carcinogen Exposure By Tobacco Product Type And Dual-Use. And, we have invited one of the authors of the study to tell us more about its findings.

Dr. Benjamin Chaffee is Assistant Professor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences at the University of California San Francisco.
