International College of Dentists Convocation

The International College of Dentists (Canadian Section) inducted 48 new Fellows at it’s Convocation on May 6, 2017.  Dr. John O’Keefe and Mr. Claude Paul Boivin were honored for contributions to the profession. The International College of Dentists, Canadian Section held it’s Annual Meeting and Convocation in Toronto May 5-6, 2017. The College recognized 48 new Fellows from across Canada including 12 from British Columbia, 2 from Alberta, 3 from Saskatchewan, 3 from Manitoba, 25 from Ontario and 3 from Atlantic Canada. Dr. Larry Levin on CDA’s Days on Hill

Each year, a CDA delegation led by the CDA President, participates in the CDA Days on the Hill event. This year was no different. Accompanied by several dentists from across Canada, Dr. Larry Levin met with members of parliament and cabinet ministers to discuss important matters related to dentistry.  The meetings agenda included:  Sugar reduction: changing labelling and marketing to kids Health Benefits taxation: thank the government for not proceeding with a tax on employer-provided health benefits Access to Care for persons with disabilities: ask the government to take leadership position for targeted funding for provincial dental programs for people ...

CDA Appearance at the Standing Committee on Immigration

On May 31, Dr. Randall Croutze appeared before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration as a witness to speak about the settlement of Syrian refugees, and specifically about the Interim Federal Health Program. Dr. Croutze provided a brief opening statement that focused on an overview of what the program covers, the limitations of the program, feedback from members of the provincial associations who are dealing with the program, and suggestions on how to improve program efficiencies.
