CDA DAYS ON THE HILL WITH DR. MITCH TAILLON

Days on the Hill are CDA’s annual 2-day session of meetings with federal party leaders, cabinet ministers, MPs and senior government officials in Ottawa. They are designed to keep oral health issues prominent on the federal government’s agenda.  CDA’s representatives brought forward three issues as part of their meetings: Federal Funding for Provincial Oral Health Programs: Underlining the need for the federal government to identify and target specific funds through their health transfers for oral health programs given the ongoing erosion in these programs at the provincial level. Canadian Health Measures Survey: Identifying the need for a more regular and ...

Is this a game-changing technology for dentistry?

Colleagues, A press release that came across my desk today particularly caught my attention. It relates to Straumann acquiring an interest in a company called Dental Monitoring. I share this with you as I believe it could be of interest to all in the oral health care sector. My sensitivity to the profound implications of rapid technological change for healthcare in general and oral health care in particular has been heightened through my recent involvement with a CDA Task Force on the Future of the Profession. I will tell you more about that a little later, but first, I invite ...
