Managing an Epileptic Emergency

In conversation with Dr. John O’Keefe, Director of Knowledge Networks CDA, Dr. Murphy outlines the four key principles in preparing for and managing a patient with epilepsy. He gives a step-by-step guide on what to do when a patient has an attack in the dental chair, lists common potential stimuli and how to avoid them, and discusses pharmaceutical intervention in the event that an epileptic episode becomes a medical  emergency.
