Tooth Wear and Medical Conditions: The Role of the Dental Team

Two distinguished experts from King’s College in London were my guests for this posts. They spoke about a recent article they coauthored in the British Dental Journal, titled: Medical conditions and erosive tooth wear.  Dental professionals can identify signs and symptoms that suggest that an individual’s erosive tooth wear may be linked to a broader medical problem than just poor diet. As such, they play an important role in identifying underlying medical causes for erosive tooth wear and help prevent the likelihood of further deterioration in the individual’s oral health.

Dr. Rebecca Moazzez is Director of the Oral Clinical Research Unit and Dr. Rupert Austin is Clinical Lecturer & Honorary Consultant in Prosthodontics at King’s College London.

As usual, our hope is that you benefit from the information presented and enjoy the conversation. We welcome and seek your feedback, suggestions, and questions at oasisdiscussions@cda-adc.ca

Until next time!
