The new Canada Anti-Spam Law: Have you consented?
On July 1st, 2014, the new Canada Anti-Spam Law (CASL) came into effect. The new law requires that users must consent to receiving commercial electronic messages before an organization can send those out to them. The law also requires senders to clearly identify themselves and to provide the recipients with an unsubscribe mechanism, allowing them to stop receiving these correspondences at any given point in time.
To comply with the stated law, the Canadian Dental Association (CDA) sent two emails requesting dentists for their consent to continue to receive electronic messages, such as JCDA Oasis Bulletin, the weekly electronic newsletter that keeps you informed about the latest news in Canadian and international dentistry and which provides you with updates on the 3 components of the Oasis Project: Oasis Discussions, Oasis Help, and jcda.ca.
If you wish to continue to receive the JCDA Oasis Bulletin, please choose one of the following alternatives:
- Retrieve the email that was sent by CDA and click on the ‘I Consent‘ button
- Email us at oasisdiscussions@cda-adc.ca or reception@cda-adc.ca, indicating that you would like to remain on the CDA email list
- Call us at 1855-716-2747 or 613-523-1770
We look forward to continuing our relationship with you and providing you with valuable content and pertinent information.
