When Should You Take the First Radiograph of Kids’ Teeth?

Dr. Reza Nouri is a certified specialist in pediatric dentistry, and has been a Clinical Associate Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia since 1994.

Highlights

In this video, Dr. Reza Nouri gives practitioners advice about prescribing and taking dental radiographs in pediatric patients. While there are published guidelines from the AAPD, for each patient, the timing, number and type of Xrays may vary based on his/her individual needs and dental history. However, radiographs do help to establish a baseline for patients and are important for diagnosis as illustrated by the different situations described by Dr. Nouri. Documentation of the type, number and need for radiographs for each patient is a must.

Brilliant. If I am lucky enough to have Dr. Nouri still working when I have kids, I’ll be extremely happy.

You know, there’s a difference in ability with Doctors, who go that extra step to do their own research and studies, vs those that don’t. Dr. Nouri is a teacher – a fantastic one at that – and he loves to do it, he loves to teach; I honestly think that’s one of his passions. But if you want to teach, you also need to want to learn. And isn’t that something you want – especially from a Pediatric Dentist? Someone that has a thirst for knowledge and does the absolute best for your child; knowing the latest applications in dentistry.

I’ve witnessed Dr. Nouri go above and beyond for his patients. The solutions he comes up with for a wide range of difficult cases, exceed expectations. This was an incredibly intellectual presentation, RN, with lots of great content….. and at the very least, shows that you know your stuff 😛
I’m really hoping you’re still practicing for at least another 15+ years.

    Cheers
