Dental trauma can happen anywhere and at any time—on the sports field, at school, at home, or in the workplace. When it does, timely and appropriate action can make a significant difference to a patient’s long-term outcome.

In this CDA Oasis podcast, Dr. Liran Levin, President of the International Association of Dental Traumatology, and Dr. Nabil Ouatik, a pediatric dentist and faculty member at McGill University and the University of Ottawa, discuss Global Dental and Oral Trauma Day 2026 and the importance of raising awareness about the prevention and management of dental injuries. They share practical guidance on how dentists can best manage dental trauma when it presents in the dental office and explore how dental teams can help educate patients and their local communities about what to do when a dental injury occurs.
