CDA Awards 2023-24: Special Friend of Canadian Dentistry Award

CDA Oasis is delighted to bring you the 2023-24 CDA Honours and Awards Program recipients. The CDA Awards recognize individuals across the country who have demonstrated unwavering passion and support for the dental profession in Canada and exhibited consistent commitment to the oral health of Canadians.

This year’s awards were presented on April 12 in Toronto, Ontario.

CDA Special Friend of Canadian Dentistry Award

The CDA Special Friend of Canadian Dentistry Award is conferred on an individual or organization outside of the dental profession in appreciation for exemplary support or service to Canadian dentistry and/or to the profession as a whole.

2023-24 CDA Special Friend of Canadian Dentistry Award Recipient

Mr. Steve Jennex

As Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Dental Association, Steve Jennex has provided stellar leadership and valuable support to the dentists of Nova Scotia. He is a vocal advocate for oral heath, has actively participated in public awareness campaigns, has helped navigate changes to their provincial dental program, and has played a pivotal role in educating and mentoring young dental professionals. He is a collaborator and leader within the dental profession, both provincially and nationally. He served on CDA’s Executive Search Committee, on the multi-province Economics Consortium, and on the Technical Submission Working Group formed to assist CDA with the Canadian Dental Care Plan.

His leadership is grounded in his wise counsel, informed perspective, sense of balance, and quiet diplomacy. This has earned him the respect and admiration of all those who have worked with him.
