Using Virtual Reality to Reduce Anxiety and Fear in Young Dental Patients

Recent advances in the use of virtual reality in healthcare are offering the potential to transform care in many settings, including pediatric diagnostics and treatment, surgery planning, pain management, and virtual care.

In this CDA Oasis discussion, Professor Sylvie Le May, Dr. Marie-Eve Asselin, and Dr. Wenjia Wu discuss their ongoing clinical trial to measure the effectiveness of virtual reality in reducing fear and anxiety in young dental patients at the CHU Sainte-Justine dental clinic in Montreal.
