October 15 is National Indigenous Oral Health Day

This Sunday, October 15, 2023, the Indigenous Dental Association of Canada (IDAC) celebrates the inaugural National Indigenous Oral Health Day, an initiative to address oral health inequity in Indigenous communities across Canada.

In this video, Dr. Sheri McKinstry, a pediatric dentist from Saskatoon, Sask., and founder of IDAC, explains why there is such a need for a National Indigenous Oral Health Day and outlines the initiatives and objectives for this year’s event.

IDAC invites its members to join them online on October 15 at 1 PM PDT/3 PM CT/4 PM EDT for a membership circle and informal inaugural National Indigenous Oral Health Day gathering. The meeting will be an opportunity for IDAC to update members on initiatives and projects of the Association.

If you are an Indigenous oral health practitioner, dental student, or pre-dental student and are not yet a member of IDAC but would like to attend the meeting, please leave a comment noting this in the Zoom registration so that IDAC can contact you.
