Cybersecurity Mini-Workshop #8: Disaster Planning

This month’s edition of the Cybersecurity Mini-Workshop Series addresses the importance of having a comprehensive plan in place for your practice should disaster strike.

Anne Genge, certified cybersecurity and privacy expert, walks through the disaster planning checklist, highlighting the key components of an effective disaster plan:

              • Identifying critical services and assets
              • Reviewing and testing your business continuity and disaster recovery plans
              • The importance of developing a plan that covers any number of eventualities, including ransomware or virus attack, server crash, physical damage, and physical theft.

“We need to be thinking not just about how we are going to recover, but also about business continuity. How do we keep working and how do we keep treating patients no matter what occurs?”
