Oral Health Information Available in Braille

Dr. Frank Hechter of the Manitoba Dental Foundation came on the CDA Oasis Good News Show to talk about some significant projects the Foundation is pursuing. One example is an initiative to translate into Braille oral hygiene information for distribution across the country by the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. This initiative was carried out in conjunction with Crest Oral-B. “The document in much longer in Braille,” says Dr. Hechter. “It is also being made available coast to coast to coast in an audio format.”

The conversation lasted 10 minutes and you can watch it at https://vimeo.com/591718089

The Manitoba Dental Foundation was formed in 2015 to help serve unmet oral health care needs in Manitoba. “The foundation is a central hub for philanthropy to improve oral health,” says Dr. Hechter. “We are dentists coming together for the public good.” This is indeed a good news story that we can all be proud of.
