The Schulich Mini-MBA Program for Dentists

Dr. Michael Glogauer
Professor at Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto

There’s no disputing the fact that dentists are a highly educated group of professionals. Think of the thousands of hours it takes to successfully complete a formal dental education, not to mention the years of practice required to develop the skills and experience required to be a competent, autonomous practitioner.

“In order to be able to provide optimal, state-of-the-art care to our patients we have to be able to run these small businesses effectively and profitably.”

But how much education and training do dentists get when it comes to running a small business? And a dental practice is a small business.

In this episode of CDA Oasis Live, Dr. John O’Keefe, Director of Knowledge Networks CDA, talks to Dr. Michael Glogauer about the recently launched Schulich Mini-MBA: Dentist Business Leadership Program at York University. Dr. Glogauer expresses his hope that the program will fill an important void in the educational realm for dentists, he gives a broad overview of what candidates can expect from the curriculum, and highlights some of the key faculty members involved.

Here is a brief overview of the program…
