Redesigning a Smile & Creating Functional Art

Dr. Paul Belzycki's Notes
Redesigning a human smile is best described as the fabrication of Functional Art. It is the confluence of Art with Science to produce a biological prosthesis that is not only esthetically pleasing, but also harmonious with host tissue so it does not cause iatrogenic sequelae and is sufficiently durable to survive decades in the harsh environment of the oral cavity. In short, it is supposed to mimic Nature. This case illustrates many concepts that have been repeatedly emphasized in this series of presentations related to clinical dentistry. The most salient concept is ensuring that no detail, however insignificant, is overlooked.
