Celebrating International Women’s Day with Dr. Nada Haidar

In recognition of International Women’s Day, we sat down with the current president of the Nova Scotia Dental Association (NSDA), Dr. Nada Haidar, to talk about her journey as a dental professional. During this conversation, she also shares her experience and insights about women holding leadership and prominent positions in dentistry.

Dr. Nada Haidar is the President of the NSDA, a graduate of Dalhousie University, and a general dentist practicing in Halifax. She is also an active volunteer within her community and in the Canadian Dental Association, as well as a part-time instructor in the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie University.

During this conversation, Dr. Haider discusses:

  • The challenges of balancing work and family roles.
  • Oral health issues facing the Nova Scotians.
  • Advice for female dental students.
  • What impact she aims to make as president of the NSDA.
