University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry: Celebrating 50 Years

I had the privilege to speak with Dean Doug Brothwell from the College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan. The College is celebrating 50 years in 2018 and a number of events have taken place to commemorate this milestone. It is worth noting that one current President and one past President of the Canadian Dental Association are graduates of the USask College of Dentistry.

In 1968, the College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan welcomed its very first students into the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program. Since then, nearly 1,000 graduates and a large number of faculty, staff and donors have helped establish the college as a leader in innovative scholarly pursuits, research, interdisciplinary collaboration, community outreach and engagement.
