Anesthesia Endodontics Supporting Your Practice

View from the Chairside: An Anatomical Approach to Endodontic Access

Anecdotally, this great presentation happened as a coincidence. Dr. Andrew Moncarz was featured in Dr. Paul Belzycki’s recent clinical presentation as the treating endodontist who completed the root canal for the patient. To record the segment, Dr. Moncarz prepared a fantastic presentation on the approach he follows to achieve endodontic access. I thought the information was very pertinent and important that I suggested we would share it in a separate post. And, thankfully Dr. Moncarz agreed.

Here is a compilation of tips, advice and thoughts presented by Dr. Andrew Moncarz, Endodontist in Toronto. He received his DDS from U of T in 1999 and completed his dental anaesthesiology training at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City in 2001. He received his Masters from U of T and his Fellowship (Royal College of Dentists of Canada) in Endodontics in 2004. Dr. Moncarz received his Diplomate status from the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology (USA) in 2005 and became a Specialist in Dental Anaesthesia in Ontario in 2008. Dr. Moncarz is currently a lecturer and a clinical demonstrator at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in the Disciplines of Paediatric Dentistry and Dental Anaesthesia; and he holds a staff position in the Department of Dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.

Hello I knew your dad at school, that’s why I still do most of my patient’s wisdom teeth.
I regards to endodontic access, I bought a Wave 1 and went to the seminar offered by DENTSPLY, presented by Ronny Dagher, in regards to utility of my new system. Dr. Dagher was very much a proponent of triangle removal, you seem to be perhaps of a little more conservative approach wrt removal as to the potential for weakening of the CEJ. I have most often preserved more, not less of the triangle from the mechanical strength perspective. I would love to know if there are studies on this?
Very much appre4ciate your taking the time to address the profession.
