Dr. Paul Santerre Honoured with Governor General’s Innovation Award

I am privileged that in my daily job, I get to meet exceptional individuals who greatly contribute to dentistry and who positively impact the progress of the profession. Once more, that was the case when I interviewed Dr. Paul Santerre, who is honoured with the 2017 Governor General’s Innovation Award, recognizing his sweeping entrepreneurial vision for scientific inquiry and its vital role in shaping Canada’s innovation economy.

Dr. Santerre is one of the world’s leading biomaterials researchers and a professor in the Faculty of Dentistry and the Institute of Biomaterials & Biomedical Engineering (IBBME) at the University of Toronto. He is also a lead researcher at the Translational Biology and Engineering Program, part of the Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research.

My interview with Dr. Santerre touched on what the award meant for him, on one of his most successful inventions EndexoTM and on the latest in the world of dentistry.

Our heartfelt congratulations go to Dr. Paul Santerre, we are proud of him! And, I hope you enjoy the conversation.
