Highlights
- Back-ups are the GOLD standard used to restore practice data if an unforeseen event were to occur
- There should be 2 back-up devices – one in the office and one off-site
- Providers and support systems for back-up must have fail-safe mechanisms to protect data from privacy breaches and physical destruction (fire, flood etc.)
- Data should be verified at regular intervals to ensure the accuracy of the information captured in back-up systems
