Dr. Jack Cottrell on the FDI mid-year meeting

Dr. Jack Cottrell, Treasurer at FDI World Dental Federation, spoke with Dr. John O’Keefe about the recently held mid-year meetings. 

Highlights

• During the mid-year meeting, the board of directors, staff, committee chairs and committees meet to get updated on the various FDI activities through their initiatives and working groups.
• The World Oral Health Day 2016 was a huge success and it touched more than 70 million people worldwide.
• Through its projects and initiatives, FDI ensures that positive messages about oral health are disseminated and that oral health is on the agenda of global organizations, such as the World Health Organization.
• As the Treasurer, Dr. Cottrell is currently working on the 2017 budget.
• Annual Dental Congresses gather the best of the best continuing education speakers and some of the most important continuing education topics. This year, FDI congress takes place in Poznań, Poland, and will feature around 90 speakers with a majority of English speaking sessions.
