The last straw: Soft drinks the most ‘dangerous’ factor on tooth wear. dentalhealth.org: The findings, published in the Journal of Public Health Dentistry, showed a substantial proportion of adults display some evidence of tooth wear while those with the more severe cases more likely to consume sugar-based soft drinks and fruit juices. Researchers hone in on genes linked to serious blood infection. drugs.com: It might be possible to develop a blood test that would diagnose severe blood infections (sepsis) at an earlier stage than can be done currently, new research suggests. Read more
Emergency preparedness pays off as Kathmandu hospitals respond to earthquakes. who.int: The earthquakes and the continuing aftershocks in Nepal highlight the importance of the efforts the Ministry of Health and Population and WHO have had in place for more than a decade to ensure key hospitals, health facilities and health workers would be ready and able to function well in an emergency or natural disaster.
