The ICD International Council Report for 2014

The ICD meeting was held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Sydney Australia. Dr. Jack McLister and Dr. Donna Brode were present as the councilors from Canada.

President Joseph Kenneally welcomed all and presided over the meeting giving best wishes from President Woong Yang who could not attend for health reasons.

Highlights of the meeting

In an effort to contain costs, the next Council Meeting in 2015 will be an all-digital meeting, meaning all reports and the Council Book will be available digitally via Drop Box. This will save over $2500 in shipping and printing costs.

Dr. Clive Ross gave his final report as Treasurer and announced the books were balanced with a great deal of thanks to Dr. Hinterman and Chelsea White in the improvement of Section XX.

Councilors energetically took part in a strategic planning afternoon. The session was facilitated and councilors pondered over the global initiative to retain members and attract new members.

It was decided that the 2015 International dues will be $40.00 for each Active Fellow

Membership Requirement for Sections

• The number of Active Fellows required to create and maintain an ICD Section shall be 120.
• This requirement will be in effect not later than 2019.
• Only Active Fellows who are not delinquent with their dues shall be counted.

Assignment of Councilors

• Each Section is assigned one Councilor. 
• The number of Active Fellows required in order to add each additional Councilor is 500. This will be in effect not later than 2019. 
• Only Active Fellows who are not delinquent with their dues shall be counted.

The ICD College has a MOU with OSAP (Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention). The Task Force was asked to develop a business plan to understand the expectations, requirements and execution of the program.

Councilor Argirios Pissiotis reviewed the meeting and events planned for 2015 in Dublin.
