Op-Ed by Dean Paul Allison in Montreal Gazette: Canadians have a duty to increase access to dental care. Roughly one-quarter of Canadians cannot afford basic dental care. McGill Dentistry Run for Outreach, September 20th, 2014. The student-organized event will be raising funds to benefit the Faculty of Dentistry’s unique Outreach Program which coordinates with various local community groups to provide free basic dental care to those who can’t afford or access private clinics. Coffee May Fight Gum Disease. Researchers recently determined that drinking coffee could lower the risk of gum disease. A research team at Boston University’s Henry M. Statins ‘help prevent tooth loss’. New research has discovered that people taking statins for general health problems were almost three times less likely to suffer from tooth loss compared to those not on the drug. Read more…
