The American Dental Association creates the Action for Dental Health, a nationwide community-based effort to address barriers to dental health. To document the program’s efforts, the ADA has released a report to congress reaching out to leading persons and organizations for help in addressing these barriers. Read the article…

Maine is now the third state to have dental hygiene therapists in order to address the shortage of dental care in the state. Dental therapists are midlevel dental providers, who are licensed to perform some routine and preventative procedures under the supervision of dentists. The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) has responded to reports of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) cases in the US by developing a free online toolkit for medical professionals.
