Canadian dentistry news

Do you do endo for First Nations patients? If so, you might wish to have a look at the NIHB Endodontic Policy and revisit in particular the tooth restorability elements regarding crown root ratio (1:1 or more required) and biologic width (probably 3 mm or more is a good rule of thumb). Have you heard about the “Dentidrill” home dental repair kit? Well, it turns out that this is an elaborate hoax designed as an attention grabbing viral marketing campaign advertisement for a dental insurance product (ixorg) in the Netherlands. This article on the website of the Dutch Dental Association (NMT) explains all. If the Dutch text comes up when you hit the link, we suggest you use Google Translate (Dutch to English) to get the gist.

Fake and unapproved dental curing lights sold online – The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is asking UK dentists to check if they have bought counterfeit and unapproved dental curing light devices after 261 products were sold by people on eBay. Read more…
