In this video, Dr. Carla Cohn, from Kids Dental, speaks about the importance of first dental visit by age 1 and the significance of establishing a dental home. Dr. Cohn also demonstrates the knee-to-knee examination and explains some of its advantages in helping to assess children’s oral health.
Dr. Cohn is a general dentist who has chosen to devote her professional career solely to the practice of Children’s Dentistry. She graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1991 and pursued a certificate in the post graduate internship at Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg. Dr. Cohn is incoming president of the Manitoba Dental Association for 2016. She maintains a private practice at Kids Dental in Winnipeg, and teaches, part time, in the clinical module at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba. She is a strong advocate of education and continuing that education beyond dental school. Dr. Cohn has published clinical articles in several North American dental journals. She is an international lecturer and enjoys speaking on all clinical aspects of children’s dentistry for the general practitioner. Her goal is to provide others with practical proven procedures and clinical tools that can be implemented easily in the day to day practices of all general practitioners.
