Practising dentistry can be a high-pressure endeavour. Whether managing a complex procedure, responding to an unexpected complication, or navigating the demands of a busy practice, dentists are routinely called upon to make critical decisions in the heat of the moment.

In this CDA Oasis discussion, Dr. Kristin Yont, a general dentist from Calgary and a Benson Henry Institute SMART-Certified health-care provider, takes us inside the brain during high-pressure situations, explaining how stress and emotions can affect executive function and our ability to make sound decisions. She also shares simple, practical techniques dentists can use to train the brain, build resilience, and perform more effectively under pressure.
