Preserving the History of Dentistry in Canada: The Crawford Dental Collection

The Crawford Dental Collection is Canada’s premier dental history collection that was gifted to the Museum of Health Care by the Canadian Dental Association’s Dentistry Canada Fund.

Named after Dr. Ralph Crawford and Mrs. Olga Crawford, who began the collection in the 1960s, the exhibit features over 1,500 artifacts and archives.

In this CDA Oasis discussion, Rowena McGowan, curator of the Museum of Health Care at Kingston, explains why it is so important to preserve the history of Canadian dentistry and offers a guided tour of some of the collection’s most prized artefacts.
