The Use of 3D Printing in Orthodontics

3D printing, or additive manufacturing, is a process by which a 3-dimensional object is created from a digital file by adding sequential layers of material. 3D printing allows for the production of complex shapes and is now being adopted in many fields of healthcare, including dentistry.

In this CDA Oasis discussion, Dr. Normand Bach, an orthodontist and Associate Professor at the University of Montreal, outlines the use of 3D printing in orthodontics today and highlights the potential benefits for the future.
