To mark World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2022, Dr. Susan Sutherland, former Chief of Dentistry at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and founding President of the Canadian Association of Hospital Dentists, talks to Oasis about antimicrobial stewardship in dentistry.
Dr. Sutherland outlines the scale of antimicrobial resistance in Canada today, addresses some of the common instances of antibiotic overuse in dentistry and discusses upcoming initiatives to support dentists in antimicrobial stewardship.
