Environmental sustainability has become a core responsibility for every organization, workplace, and profession around the world, and dentistry is no exception.

In this video, Dr. Lynn Tomkins, president of the Canadian Dental Association (CDA), discusses the challenges facing dentistry in its efforts to become a more environmentally sustainable profession and outlines some of the changes required for the future.

“It is a huge concern, especially for our younger member dentists. They are going to be the ones who are going to be practising long into the future and I think they are dismayed at the amount of waste we are producing.”
