Introducing the Lyle Best Humanitarian Award

The Manitoba Dental Foundation is currently seeking nominations for the Lyle Best Humanitarian Award, an award given to an individual, dental practice, or organization in Canada that has had a profound impact on the dental health of impoverished populations, nationally or internationally.

In this video, Rafi Mohammed, Chief Executive Officer of the Manitoba Dental Association, gives the background behind the award, highlights its purpose, and details some of the qualities prospective nominees should be recognized for.

After a one-year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the inaugural $15,000 award will be presented on November 5, 2022, at the Manitoba Dental Foundation Smile Gala Snowball. Nomination packages for the Award are available on the Manitoba Dental Foundation website. The deadline for nominations is September 2, 2022.

The foundation wanted to create an award that reflects Lyle, the person. His contribution to dentistry is immeasurable, his generosity unmatched, and his kindness to social causes impactful. This award sums up who Lyle Best is as a person. The Foundation is thrilled to help organizations and individuals in delivering dental care to those people in society who need it through the Lyle Best Humanitarian Award.”
