January 16-22 is National Non-Smoking Week, an annual event coordinated by the Canadian Council for Tobacco Control that aims to educate Canadians about the dangers of smoking, help people quit smoking and de-normalize the tobacco industry, its products and marketing practices.

In this video, Dr. Aaron Burry, Deputy CEO - Professional Affairs at the Canadian Dental Association (CDA), talks about CDA’s position statement on smoking and vaping and outlines the role dentists can play in supporting patients. He also addresses the potential dangers of vaping and gives advice on how dentists can open a positive dialogue with their patients around the health impacts of smoking and vaping.
