Le mandat de Dr Allison prendra fin le 30 juin prochain et nous, au sein du CDA Oasis, voulions dire merci à un grand leader! Le Dr Allison est dentiste avec une formation professionnelle dans les domaines de la chirurgie buccale et de la santé dentaire publique ainsi qu’une formation en recherche dans le domaine de l’épidémiologie clinique. I had the pleasure of hosting Dr, Paul Allison, current Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at McGill University. Dr. Allison’s term of deanship will end on June 30th of this year and we at CDA Oasis wanted to say Thank you to a great leader! The McGill Qualitative Health Research Group: Advocating for the Qualitative Approach

I had the great pleasure of meeting Dr. Mary Ellen Macdonald, Associate Professor in the Division of Oral Health and Society Research in the Faculty of dentistry at McGill University and the founder of the McGill Qualitative Health Research Group (MQHRG).  The qualitative approach to biomedical and oral health research has for a long time been stigmatized as a soft or less rigorous research approach. Outstanding British Columbians: Dr. Rosamund Harrison Appointed to the Order of British Columbia

I had the privilege to speak with Dr. Rosamund Harrison, pediatric dentist and professor emerita at the University of British Columbia’s faculty of dentistry.  Dr. Harrison has been awarded British Columbia’s highest honour: she was very recently appointed to the Order of British Columbia, along with 15 other “outstanding British Columbians.” In this interview, I ask her about how she feels about this award as well as some of her work improving children’s oral health, working on community-based research, and mentoring students.
