What’s New with the Dental Aptitude Test?

The Dental Aptitude Test (DAT), the long-standing program conducted by the Canadian Dental Association to help students evaluate their aptitude for a career in dentistry and to assist dental schools in selecting first-year students, is changing for the better.

Formerly conducted twice a year as a paper-based test, as of March 2022, the DAT will be entirely computer-based and will be available year-round at 16 test centres across Canada.

In this informative interview, Geoff Valentine, CDA’s Head of Programs and Services, walks through these positive changes to the DAT and offers practical advice on the registration process and how candidates can prepare for the test.
