Guided Bone Regeneration

Guided Bone Regeneration is a therapeutic, surgical modality used in implant dentistry to reconstruct alveolar ridges which are deficient as a result of tooth loss. In healthy patients, GBR is a highly predictive procedure so long as certain principles are followed.

In this episode of CDA Oasis Live, Dr. Vinay Bhide, a Periodontist from Aurora, Ontario, talks to Dr. John O’Keefe, Director of Knowledge Networks CDA, about the intricacies of GBR. Through two detailed case studies he shares the key steps to success with this procedure but warns that, despite GBR’s potential, in some cases further augmentation may be required.

in the 2nd case where minor additional grafting was required on buccal, could you have simply sunk the implant slightly deeper, instead of the ossix volumax graft?
    Thank you
