CE Showcase: Treating Patients with Autism with Karen A. Raposa
Karen A. Raposa, RDH, MBA is currently Clinical Education Manager with Hu-Friedy Manufacturing Company. Recently, she sat down with us to discuss how dentists can better serve patients with autism and other impairments and about her upcoming presentation on the subject at this year’s Pacific Dental Conference taking place March 7-9, 2019 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Karen A. Raposa has authored articles on a variety of dental subjects and has co-edited a textbook titled “Treating the Dental Patient with a Developmental Disorder”. In addition, her work has been published in the Dental Clinics of North America “The Special Care Patient” publication. Karen also has extensive experience in the academic world as a former assistant professor in Boston University’s Department of General Dentistry and was awarded the title as one of the “Top 25 Women in Dentistry”.
