Tackling Mental Illness in the Dental Office
Mental illness touches 1 in 5 Canadians and many of those are patients in need of oral and general care. Stigma or discrimination attached to mental illnesses present a serious barrier not only to diagnosis and treatment, but also to acceptance in the community. One dentist set out to do something about this issue. In our conversation, Dr. James Frizzell emphasized the important role dentists play in identifying and tackling mental illness and abuse in patients.
Dr. Frizzell is a general dentist in Niagara Falls. He graduated in 1988 from the University of Toronto, practiced in the Canadian Armed Forces for some time. He endeavours to stay up to date with the latest advances in cosmetic care and technology through extensive continuing education.
