HENRY SCHEIN CANADA DONATES $20,000 TO CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY IN SUPPORT OF ORGANIZATION’S MISSION TO ERADICATE DISEASE

Donation Made During Henry Schein Canada’s National Sales Meeting in Vancouver; Team Also Packs Hygiene Kits for Disaster-Affected Communities in Manitoba

MELVILLE, N.Y., March 23, 2018 – Henry Schein Canada, the Canadian dental business of Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC), announced today that it has donated $20,000 to the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) in support of its efforts to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life for people living with the disease.

Cy Elborne, President of Henry Schein Canada, presented the cheque to Sofia Janmohamed of the Canadian Cancer Society, at the company’s recent National Sales Meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia. The 3-day meeting brought together more than 350 Team Schein Members (TSMs) from across Canada, including 225 sales and service representatives, as well as 100 representatives from 35 supplier partners. Mr. Elborne and the Henry Schein Canada team made the donation in honor of their fellow TSMs who have lost their battle with cancer.

“We at Henry Schein Canada have long pursued philanthropic efforts that allow us to give back to the communities and professions we serve, and I can’t think of a more perfect setting than our National Sales Meeting for us to come together as a team to support the fight against cancer,” Mr. Elborne said. “Each of us has lost a loved one or colleague to this terrible disease, and it is a privilege to make this donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in their honor. I thank my fellow TSMs for exemplifying the best of what our company stands for, and I look forward to seeing all that we accomplish together in 2018.”

In keeping with the company’s commitment to community service, the We Care Global Challenge launched at this year’s meeting for the first time. The Challenge is a company-wide initiative in which TSMs at six national sales meetings throughout the year attempt to assemble a combined 10,000 hygiene kits packed with essential health care and hygiene supplies. These kits will then be sent to girls, children, and adults living in international emergency areas around the world. Partnering with two global nonprofit organizations, Heart to Heart International and Save the Children, the Challenge embodies the Henry Schein Cares mission to “help health happen” for people living in underserved, at-risk, and remote communities.

Kits assembled by Henry Schein Canada will be distributed by Save the Children Canada to residents of Island Lake, Manitoba, a group of communities that have recently been evacuated following a series of emergencies, including wildfires and power outages.

“We are very thankful for the generous support of Henry Schein Canada. It couldn’t have come a more urgent time. Due to our aging and growing population, the number of cancer cases in Canada is expected to rise dramatically by 2030,” says Carly Schur, National Director of Corporate Programs for the Canadian Cancer Society. “We are counting on corporate partners and everyday Canadians to ensure that we can meet the surging demand for the work we do.”
