It was a great pleasure to welcome once again Dr. Isabel Mello, a regular CDA Oasis contributor. Dr. Mello spoke about recognizing and celebrating the important role that dental assistants play as member of the dental team and the closest collaborator with the dentist. For more information about this event, please visit the Canadian Dental Assistants Association’s website.
Dr. Mello is Associate Professor and Head of the Endodontics division in the Department of Dental Clinical Sciences at Dalhousie University.
Share with us what you are doing this week for the dental assistants in your team. Your feedback, questions, and suggestions are also welcome at firstname.lastname@example.org
Until next time!
March 4th to the 10th has been designated by the American Dental Assistants Association, along with the American Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Assistants’ Association, as the time to acknowledge and recognize Dental Assistants. Contributing to quality dental care, today’s dental assistants are role models of professional development. Strengthening the entire dental team, they enhance patient satisfaction throughout the world. Registered or Certified Dental Assistants ensure the level of professionalism and service that patients deserve.
A certified or registered dental assistant is educated in infection control protocols, exposing and processing radiographs, providing patient education, assisting the dentist during procedures, independently providing intra-oral treatments, performing laboratory tasks and much more. As part of the dental team they are essential to the oral care of Canadians! Recognize your dental assistants during the first week of March.
