ODA New Dentist Symposium: Inspirational Leadership with Peter Barry

The Ontario Dental Association is holding a New Dentist Symposium, October 21st and 22nd, 2017. This innovative Continuing Education event aims to bring together like-minded ODA members who are facing the same challenges and opportunities. The symposium was specifically crafted for new dentists who have been practicing dentistry for 10 years or less.

Leadership and the debate between innate and acquired leadership are important topics to the dental profession. My fifth interview of speakers from the ODA New Dentist Symposium is with Peter Barry, a renowned speaker, coach and trainer who has helped dentists achieve successful professional careers for over 20 years.

I hope you enjoy the interview and attend the symposium. Please share your thoughts and feedback with us through oasisdiscussions@cda-adc.ca

Highlights

This entertaining keynote is filled with revealing concepts and practical strategies for empowering the leader in you. We all deserve to work with a group of enthusiastic confident and positive people who are all working together on behalf of a future we have all committed ourselves to. Such employees do not arrive in the practice fully formed. Cultivating self-motivated employees is a process. Dental teams that thrive do so because of leadership. You are the spark that can ignite the chemistry of your championship team. Leadership is one of the most important practice skills you can develop on your path to a successful fulfilling and enjoyable career as a dentist.

Learning Objectives

  • Developing the dental leader in you. Management vs. Leadership. There is a big difference!
  • Communicating for clarity and purpose. How to give clear direction that inspires people to take action.
  • Leadership is a team sport. How to grow leaders around you thereby leading yourself out of the day to day running of your practice.
