COHN Webinar: Pediatric Oral Pathology: An Overview of Diagnosis and Management

I had the privilege to speak with Dr. Michael Sigal renowned expert in the field of pediatric dentistry. Dr. Sigal will host a webinar on the Colgate Oral Health Network for Professional Education and Development on June 13, 2017. The webinar is titled: Pediatric Oral Pathology: An Overview of Diagnosis And Management.

Highlights

The presentation will provide an overview of Pediatric Oral Pathology from infancy to early childhood with an emphasis on diagnosis and management.

The patient examination and consultation process will be briefly reviewed in the context of developing a structured diagnostic method to facilitate the formulation of a differential then final diagnosis with an appropriate treatment plan. 

Participants will learn:

  • The application of the standardized patient consultation will allow the practitioner to identify and manage pediatric oral pathology in an appropriate manner.
  • Participants will learn about the common oral pathological conditions that can affect children and their management.
  • Participants will be able to identify pediatric oral lesions and anomalies.

Target audience: Dentists, dental assistants and hygienists.

 

Michael Sigal, DDS, MSc, Dip Ped, FRCD

Graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto with DDS in 1979, completed hospital residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Diploma in Pedodontics from U of T in 1982 and MSc in Oral Biology in 1984. Former Head of Pediatric Dentistry and Director of Graduate program in Pediatric Dentistry for over 20 years, Former Chief of Dentistry and Director of Hospital Dental Residency program at the Mount Sinai Hospital. Interests in dentistry for persons with special needs, hospital dentistry and pediatric oral pathology.
