Practical How To: ACTIVA™ BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE™ Composite

This post was prepared in collaboration with Pulpdent

On an experimental basis, we have asked a limited number of companies to provide us with practical “How To” answers to clinical questions. We were prompted to conduct this experiment when dental team members told us that they visit company websites and consult company representatives for practical clinical information. We look forward to receiving your feedback on this experiment.

In 2013, Pulpdent launched ACTIVA BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE, the first esthetic, bioactive restorative material to infiltrate and integrate with tooth structure and mimic the physical and chemical properties of teeth. This bioactive material stimulates apatite-formation at the material-tooth interface, sealing against microleakage, secondary caries and failure. ACTIVA BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE’s patented rubberized resin absorbs shock and resists fracture and chipping. Dentists report that ACTIVA BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE appears to “melt into the tooth” and find the moisture-tolerant material easy to handle and place.
