Virtual dental home grant bill passes Assembly. cda.org: The California Dental Association co-sponsored legislation providing key funding for the virtual dental home model of dental care which passed unanimously on the Assembly floor. Read more

FDA rejects change in smokeless tobacco warning labels. ada.org: The Food and Drug Administration rejected an industry petition to label smokeless tobacco products as presenting “lower” or “substantially less” risk to health than cigarettes. Read more

A unique experiment shows how bad dental hygiene wrecks your entire body’s immune system; Mail Online – UK: For two weeks, a journalist wore a gum guard on one side of his mouth whenever he brushed his teeth, so that side didn’t get cleaned. At the end of this time, he brushed his teeth without the gum guard on and his gums bled. He had developed mild gum disease. Read more
