Khashayar Gharavi is a second year dental student at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. He joined the FCDSA Council in April 2014 and was elected as Regional Councillor – Central Canada in June 2014. In the past year, he has represented the federation at the Annual Meeting of the NDEB in October 2014, the inaugural meeting of the CDSPI Advisory Panel in November 2014, and the ASDA Annual Session in February 2015. When the position of Vice President became vacant in January 2015, Khashayar was appointed Interim-Vice President and now serves as chairperson of the Finance Committee. Khashayar was drawn to dentistry because of his passion for arts and sciences and the possibility of building long term relationships with patients. After graduation in 2017, he is thinking of practicing somewhere outside of the greater Toronto area (rural areas) or continuing his education in a general dental residency. He hopes to contribute to FCDSA on its transition to becoming a powerful voice for dentistry students.
