Dr. Randall Croutze speaks about the 2015 CDA awards

Dr Croutze edited 1Dr. Randall Croutze, CDA Vice President, spoke with Dr. John O’Keefe, CDA Director of Knowledge networks, about the 2015 awards and the process CDA follows to confer these awards.

Highlights of the Interview

  • Awards are presented to acknowledge the important contributions of individuals and organizations that advance the profession of dentistry in Canada and contribute to the improvement of the fabric of our society.
  • Candidates are proposed after a call goes out to important organizations in Canadian dentistry. CDA Board of Directors, the provincial dental associations, dental regulatory authorities, the Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry, the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and other organizations can also put forward nominations for considerations.
  • The criteria for selecting candidates: individuals that have a proven history of meritorious service, who go above and beyond the call of duty, and who are committed to the dental education and to the advancement of knowledge. 
  • It is important for CDA to confer these awards because CDA is the national voice of dentistry and it gives CDA the ability to express pride in the dental profession.
