The Implications of Ebola for Dentistry – a webinar from ADA/CDC/OSAP

On Oct. 29, 2014, the American Dental Association (ADA), along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP), hosted a webinar to answer specific questions regarding the outbreak of Ebola and the implications for dental offices.
The webinar is published below in four chapters, each one featuring a different speaker. In Chapter 1, a physician at CDC outlines the latest medical knowledge about Ebola and its implications for healthcare workers. In Chapter 2, the President of the ADA speaks of the need for dentists to approach the issue of Ebola in a calm, science-based manner. In Chapter 3, the Chief Science Officer at ADA outlines ADA guidelines to dentists about how to prepare to screen patients for Ebola. In Chapter 4, the Chair of the Board of OSAP, outlines the resources that OSAP has created for dental teams to help prevent Ebola and other infectious diseases being transmitted in dental care settings.
