Can we help you share your clinical pearls?

In the short video below (2.04), Dr. John O’Keefe, Director of Knowledge Networks at the Canadian Dental Association, calls on dentists to participate in JCDA Oasis in a creative and innovative way. Dr. O’Keefe held numerous panel discussions and focus groups with dentists across Canada during which an important recurring theme was “dentists want to learn from other dentists who are in the same situation as themselves.”

Dr. O’Keefe noted that to make this a reality, we need dentists to share their experiences. If you are interested in doing so, we welcome your feedback and we look forward to receiving your clinical pearls. Please contact us:

By email: jcdaoasis@cda-adc.ca

Dr. O’Keefe’s email: jokeefe@cda-adc.ca

By phone: 1-855-716-2747

We are committed to making your experience of sharing your knowledge a comfortable one. We are working together to support each other in ways like we’ve never done before.

    Hello,

As far as clinical pearls, or things that have improved my practice of dentistry,

    1. deciding what aspects of dentistry interest me the most, pursuing the best training possible in those areas then having the courage to incorporate them into my practice.

2.realizing that if you want to incorporate anything new into your practice, that you will have to invest in training your team as well.

3.reading the book SWAY, which showed me that you will become whatever you believe, good or bad.

    4. reading the book START WITH WHY, which showed me the importance of first taking the time to be sure you know exactly why you are doing something, if you want to be successful.

    5. signing up for the Spear Education digital campus. Some of the best courses I have see on restorative dentistry, esthetic dentistry and occlusion.

    6. taking the dental implant course at Hands on Training in London, Ontario.

    7. using the atraumatic gripping forceps and periotome/elevator instruments from Salvin dental for extractions.

    Thank-you.
